May Our Traditions Bring Joy, Health & Wealth to You!
Sri Sarvari Nama Samvatsara Ugadi Utsavam 2020 - March 28th, 9.00 AM to 4.00 PM @ Lawler Middle School Cafeteria
Ugadi is the New Year's Day for the people of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka . It falls generally in the month of March or April in Solar Calendar.
సర్వసంపత్ ప్రదం తథా !
నింబ ప్రతషణం శుభం !
On Ugadi, it is the tradition to begin the day by partaking of a special preparation known as ‘Ugadi Pacchadi’. Six ingredients go into the making of this dish, each one representative of the six tastes (shadruchulu)– sweet, sour, spicy, salty, savory and bitter. This reminds us to accept both the joys and sorrows that life offers us with equal mindedness.
Festival is celebrated as "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" which literally translates to "Whole world is one family". Since we do not have a single mailing group for the community, please extend this invitation to your neighbors and friends. The idea of celebrating Ugadi is to express and experience the love of family environment and coming together as a community.
We expect all community members to come in Traditional Telugu Attire and make the whole environment look beautiful like celebrating the festival in Bharatham.
